Our Story

A corner of the mountains
that's been waiting for you.

Rainbow Lakes Campground sits nestled among ancient pines and crystal-clear alpine lakes, far enough from the grid to hear your own thoughts return. We've been welcoming travelers, families, and quiet-seekers for generations — not because we're fancy, but because this place does something rare: it slows you down.

Whether you roll up in a weathered RV, pitch a tent beneath the stars, or settle into one of our cabin retreats, the rhythm here is simple. Mornings begin with mist rising off the water. Evenings end with firelight and the sound of loons calling across the lake. There's no rush. There never is.

What You'll Do

The mountains
don't rush you.

Every season writes a different story at Rainbow Lakes. Spring brings salmonberries and melting snow. Summer turns the lake glass-still. Autumn paints the slopes in copper and gold. Winter wraps everything in silence. Whatever time you arrive, there's something to do — or nothing at all.

Fishing & Boating

Rainbow Lakes are stocked with trout year-round. Cast from the shore, wade in the shallows, or borrow a kayak and drift where the water takes you.

Hiking & Trail Running

Miles of singletrack wind through subalpine forest, past wildflower meadows, and up to overlooks that make your legs regret it — right up until you see the view.

Stargazing & Campfires

Zero light pollution means the Milky Way is visible from every campsite. Pull up a log, crack a stick, and watch the sky do what it's always done — amaze you.

Wildlife & Birding

Eagles circle overhead. Moose browse the meadows at dawn. If you're patient and quiet, the forest introduces itself — one unexpected encounter at a time.

Your spot by the lake
